Stryker CEO weighs in on health care reform

There are so many parties involved in the Obama administration’s push toward healthcare reform that many are now calling the process ‘overcomplicated’. And, while ‘medical technology’ only accounts for 6% of healthcare costs in the United States, virtually every company in the life sciences industry has both been pulled into the debate and asked to do their fair share to make it work.

In this interview, Steve MacMillan, CEO of Stryker, along with Tommy Thompson, former Secretary of HHS, and Scott Gottlied, former Deputy Commissioner at the FDA, outline some of their own preferences for how our focus should shift to an alternative plan but one far different from what President Obama is proposing.
